    Kickboxing and Self Defense Classes Taught For Women, By Women! 

     Our fun and action packed classes give you the fitness and exercise that you crave and are taught in a fun and supportive environment!  For all ages, fitness levels and sizes, our one hour classes are packed with pad work, circuit training, self defense moves and will help you get in shape.

     No special equipment or outfits are needed for you to take this class;  just a positive attitude, comfortable clothing and a willingness to enjoy yourself.

    Learning how to kick and punch properly helps women  feel strong and empowered.

    Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides a very challenging yet safe and caring environment for your child to mature towards a real life champion. The outcome of continued childhood practice of BJJ goes far beyond the accomplishments of goals on the mats: the discipline and excellence created by our instructors often carried over to the child’s behaviour at home and at school.

  • Boxing and No-Gi

    If you are interested in the basics of mixed martial arts (MMA), want to improve your No Gi stand up game or just want to improve your fitness this is the class you need!

    This class focuses on the fundamentals of both boxing and No Gi stand up. The basics of boxing are covered including types of punches and the associated stances, defending and set combinations using well established boxing drills with pad work.

    The No Gi aspect of the class concentrates on improving the clinching and take-down part of your No Gi game. Techniques and drills will focus on the fundamentals of clinching, different take-downs and defending against the take-down.

    The class ends with a cardio fitness circuit consisting of Boxing and No Gi specific drills that will help with your cardio and strength training.

  • Taekwondo

    Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that combines combat and self-defence techniques with sport and exercise.  Taught by the local taekwondo club, this class is offered for all ages and levels.

  • Combination Youth and Kids’ Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

The program presents the core principles and fundamental moves of BJJ through a practical and proven curriculum that is taught in a safe and effective that optimizes learning for those with little to no previous experience, fitness or athleticism.

    Advanced Program

    What comes after mastering the fundamentals? What is next on the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey?

    The Advanced Program presents higher level techniques and drills that help the student shape their game through the development of reflexes, speed and reaction times as well as honing transitions between one technique and another.

    Classes are based on a defined class structure and curriculum that takes a broad and open-minded approach, incorporating techniques from different grappling styles like wrestling, judo, Sambo and, of course, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

    Black Belt Program

    Can someone master Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? Is there an end to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey?

    The Black Belt Program is the last stage in the adult program structure. While it does represent the student’s arrival to the last level of training, it also represents a new beginning.

    This goal of this program is to further develop the student’s game and flow by exposing them to cutting edge Jiu-Jitsu techniques and variations. The programs’ dynamic curriculum and classes, coupled with live training sessions, build a challenging yet safe environment for students to progress from their blue to black belts.

    It is in the Black Belt Program that most students truly grasp what they’ve been told since being white belts: Jiu-Jitsu is an endless journey of daily accomplishments that always leads to a new challenge. The same old armbars, triangle choke, fireman carries, Kimuras, sweeps, guard passes and single leg take downs gain new meaning as their BJJ game is defined.

    Students also become role models within the school. The responsibility of sharing techniques and training philosophy with newer students is taken seriously. They play a key role in maintaining a safe, friendly and progress-oriented environment at our school.

  • Live Training

    Let’s Roll! This class is entirely about working on your game. It is an unstructured class where you can just roll (wrestle), drill techniques in brazilian jiu jitsu, judo or MMA, work on positions, etc. The mat is open to whatever you want to use it for to improve your game or work on your fitness.

  • Competition Class

    When you come to the Competition Class you can be sure of two things: you will get a work out and roll a lot! While this class will favour those that want to train at an intensity conducive to preparing for competitions, the class is open to anyone that wants a good work out and looking for extensive drilling and rolling.

    Our judo class is taught by a Judoka Black Belt. Many aspects of the class are traditional to the art of Judo but the curriculum focuses on techniques specific to BJJ. Students can be tested and ranked within BC Judo if they wish. Alternatively, you can just participate in the class to hone and gain confidence in your stand up game.
